CINDY LAUGHS OFF - “UMA PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS MALPRACTICE” RUMORS

Uganda Musicians’ Associations (UMA) Presidential candidate, Cindy Sanyu has declined any plans from her team to cheat the forthcoming elections as its beng rumored. Since her nomination for the ‘steamy’ Presidential seat last month, reports from different sources have claimed that Cindy, UMA General Secretary Phina Mugerwa and the UMA electoral commission chairman Mr. Jeff Geoffrey Ekongo have established malpractice plans in the elections. However, during her interview with a local radio station the “Boom Party” singer has distanced herself from the allegations of malpractice. Cindy brands these false rumors which require proof before even reported to Police. “Its very easy to talk. I want someone to talk with proof but not rumors. If they say we are stealing votes now, its also likely that they are also doing the same at the moment if we are to go by the rumors.  Someone should have proof before talking. Musicians will benefit more if they vote for me - Daddy Andre

 Daddy Andre is contesting for the position of Vice President at the Uganda Musician Association (UMA). His opponents are Hanson Baliruno and Kalifa Aganaga. However, unlike other candidates, Daddy Andre has not been spotted campaigning. When contacted on why he has not made any attempts, Daddy Andre told Galaxy FM’s Florah Kabagenyi that he has been privately talking to musicians. Many of his fans think he is incapable of running the office because of his busy schedule.

UMA - Announces Voting Dates

UMA  Announces voting (Mr Jeff Godfrey Ekongo on left) Uganda Musicians Association (UMA) electoral commission chairman, Mr. Jeff Geoffrey Ekongo has confirmed that the public presidential debate will take place on the 21st of May 2022. The voting will be on the 23rd of the same month. "Debate is scheduled to take place on Saturday 21st May 2022 shortly before the elections scheduled for Monday 23rd May 2022," a Tweet from UMA read. The UMA bosses however failed to clarify whether the voting will be a digital, secret ballot, or lining up behind candidates. The biggest competition is between musicians King Saha and Cindy Sanyu. The winner will lead the association for the next two and a half years.
