CINDY LAUGHS OFF - “UMA PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS MALPRACTICE” RUMORS

Uganda Musicians’ Associations (UMA) Presidential candidate, Cindy Sanyu has declined any plans from her team to cheat the forthcoming elections as its beng rumored.

Since her nomination for the ‘steamy’ Presidential seat last month, reports from different sources have claimed that Cindy, UMA General Secretary Phina Mugerwa and the UMA electoral commission chairman Mr. Jeff Geoffrey Ekongo have established malpractice plans in the elections.

However, during her interview with a local radio station the “Boom Party” singer has distanced herself from the allegations of malpractice.

Cindy brands these false rumors which require proof before even reported to Police.

“Its very easy to talk. I want someone to talk with proof but not rumors. If they say we are stealing votes now, its also likely that they are also doing the same at the moment if we are to go by the rumors.  Someone should have proof before talking. And if you see me, Phina and Jeff cheating votes, you should report we to Police with proof. Therefore, those rumors are false,” Cindy Sanyu told Galaxy FM.

The incumbent also confirmed to have always been shared the UMA Voters’ Register with all musicians on their different WhatsApp forums without hiding any of its details as its being rumored.

“Voters’ register exist and we share them with these artists everyday. Every artist in the register, registered with his/her phone number that is on WhatsApp group forums for musicians. So every artist knows who is on the voters list and not,” she added.

Cindy further opened up on the claims of some UMA members not appearing in the register, which she attributes to their late registration as voters.

“The only people that are not on the voters list are the ones that joined UMA recently, like the last two weeks because of just elections. So, there has been no time to add them to the Voters register.”

Its confirmed that Cindy will be locking-horns with King Saha and Lord Bitemu for the Presidential seat come Monday, May 23, 2022.

However, it’s still unclear whether the voting will be digital, secret ballot, or lining up behind candidates.

Last week, Mr. Jeff Geoffrey Ekongo confirmed that the candidates will have a public presidential debate on Saturday, May 21, 2022.

It should be noted that the voting comes in a year after Cindy Sanyu taking over the presidential mantle from Ykee Benda who resigned for yet undisclosed reasons.

All You Need to Know About Independent Music

Independent music (often referred to as indie music or indie) is music produced independently from commercial record labels or their subsidiaries, a process that may include an autonomous, do-it-yourself approach to recording and publishing. The term indie is sometimes used to describe a genre (such as indie rock and indie pop), and as a genre term, "indie" may include music that is not independently produced, and many independent music artists do not fall into a single, defined musical style or genre and create self-published music that can be categorized into diverse genres. The term ‘indie’ or ‘independent music’ can be traced back to as early as the 1920s after it was first used to reference independent film companies but was later used as a term to classify an independent band or record producer.
